RKA tours Steel Galvanizing Plant

Staff from Rogers Krajnak Architects recently visited a galvanizing plant in Ohio as part of our commitment to continuing education within the architectural profession. Galvanizing is the process of apply a protective zinc coating to exposed steel in order to prevent rusting and eventual failure. As part of the tour, our staff was able to see firsthand the process of hot dip galvanizing, observing a collection of miscellaneous steel products dipped into a 50 foot long molten tub of zinc.

RKA received a national award from the American Institute of Architects for our Mentoring Program in 2006. On behalf of the firm, Darryl and Peter accepted the 2006 AIA Continuing Education Award for Excellence at the national AIA convention in Los Angeles, California.
