Originally constructed in 1960 as a warehouse, the
Northwest Masonic Lodge purchased, renovated and expanded the building
in 1991 in order to provide meeting and office facilities for several
Masonic Lodges in this region. As additional Masonic Lodges inquired
about meeting in the building, the Temple Operating Board commissioned
Rogers Krajnak Architects to reorganize the facility in order to
accommodate more Lodge meetings without increasing the area of the
building. The renovation includes new meeting spaces, consolidated
office space and new individual storage spaces for each Lodge. New
lighting, power and upgraded mechanical systems will improve the energy
efficiency of the building’s systems. New interior finishes were
selected to highlight the fact that this is a “blue lodge” referring to
the traditional color of regalia in Lodges derived from English or Irish
Freemasonry.
