Groundbreaking Ceremony for Lifeline of Ohio Donor Memorial

Darryl Rogers, Peter Krajnak, Matt McClellan and Kent Holloway moved some dirt as they participated in the groundbreaking for the new Donor Memorial that Rogers Krajnak Architects designed for Lifeline of Ohio.  The Donor Memorial celebrates those donors who have shared the “Gift of Life” through organ and tissue donation. Recognizing the “ripple effect” of how one Gift of Life can save many lives, Peter described the key design elements as “A Ripple, A Garden, and A Gift”.  “Ripples” of granite pavers reach out from the circular central fountain, across the plaza and through the garden.  Symbolizing the connection between donor and recipient, these ripples connect with other ripples at the threshold of the Remembrance Room.  Surrounded by the names of those that have given the Gift of Life (which are inscribed in backlit stainless steel panels) the Remembrance Room provides a spiritual place for reflection and remembrance.
